"Sorry" Starting over

I've decided to trash all my recordings of sorry and start over. I just kept on fixing mistakes, but creating new ones. There are several underlying problems with the guitar recording. I need to find an amp setting I like better and that doesn't make the guitar sound wonky sometimes. I am however keeping the guitar solo I wrote because it sounds good and I dont want to forget. Another issue is the words. I still want to revise a bit, I dont know if i love the words, plus the chorus could use some tweaking. I think a issue for me is also the recording mindset. I personally, do better when just sitting down and playing a song full through. Breaking up my singing and guitar over several weeks and changing it has made it harder for me to get into it. I think I am going to do a full run with both guitar and vocals at the same time. The "Live Aspect" makes me liven up more, and gives me a better sound. I also need to route out my tempo problems. I feel im either rushing or dragging in certain sections. My chorus seems faster then the verse etc. I finding the corrections to my problems and getting a fresh start will help me. I think I will have the song done in 1-2 weeks tops.
