Autumn #3 Instrumental

Recording today went very well. Spent about two hours recording in my basement. Initially, I didn't know whether to use my acoustic and mic it, or my electric/acoustic and plug direct in. Immediately when I heard the two, I knew I wanted that natural guitar sound. I recorded different 4 measure loops of the same guitar part but each one is slightly different. Some have flourishes, or just have a less complex picking.

When the guitar was done, I moved on to the bass part. I basically just followed the chord progression and added some bridge notes. I was going to use a pick for a clean sound, but ended up going with the normal fingered bass. The next part I did was Drums. The idea of a light, mostly brush percussion part, has been in my head since the beginning of the song, but I do not have my wire brushes. I for now have a place holder, in the form of a garage band fake drummer. I played around with the settings and found what instrumentation I wanted, but there is some things to be desired since I cant control everything. The main issue is with ends of drum parts, and lack of lead in control. Im debating what I will do, but most likely it will be me re-recording it into a live drum part.

Another thing I really wanted was to have the sound of leaves blowing at parts of the song. I literally went outside with a mic and recorded leaves blowing close to the ground. I put it in the beginning and end of the song.

I'm attaching the first Instrumental Mp3 here. The percussion is a bit loud, but laziness has pushed me to just post it how it is, especially because it is a rough draft.
