Sound Cloud full Version.

Live solo version

A late response (my bad)

I finally finished the song standstill, last week on feb 27.

I got with Afton to record the weekend right before, and had a pretty quick turn around. Working with Afton was great. Bringing another voice on the track was definitely what it needed. It helped with the problems I had with my vocals, and helped me incorporate some new harmonies. Originally I had several vocal parts that I had in my earliest draft, but thought they sounded weird coming from my voice while i was already singing. With Afton singing the melody, I added back my vocals, and was able to add other parts for afton to sing that blended well with my vocals. Working with Afton also helped me find a cooler ending for the vocal line.

Editing was surprisingly quick. I played around with the EQ of both vocals. I already had a fairly good balance for my vocals, so after I touched up, it was Aftons turn. Never balancing a female voice before, was less of a challenge than expected. I cut out some of her lows, and raise the highs, and it sounded good. I looked up a few tips for making them sound extra nice, and then I was on to mastering.

Finishing the song was a relief. I decided to release it on souncloud to get some hype. Its been received really well, and Im pretty ecstatic about the praise I've gotten. The quality was not that bad, seeing that I did it myself in my basement.

Currently working on recording shoulder talk, and a spur of the moment lofi song.

Links to a live version I did, and the soundcloud product are above.
