Stand Still Update (3/13/18)
Due to me being sick and having no voice, I've been working on recording the tracks for different songs. The not being able to sing is hurting the process, but I am getting good work done.
Yesterday I primarily worked on Shoulder Talk. I finally decided my guitar situation, deciding on only normal acoustic (no elec/acoustic). Then I recorded two separate takes, and panned one all the way to the left, and the other all the way to the right. Its made it sound a lot fuller, and definitely fixed the sound issue I had.
The Bass line was the next thing I ironed out. I was tired of the bass line only being the 1st note of the chord. Its a basic type of bass, which I still utilise in the song, but I didn't want it the whole time. In a weird epiphany, I decided to try part of a baseline I used in an older song of mine. It worked surprisingly well. Adding a lot of grace notes helped make the baseline groovier and give it some movement. I recorded all of the bass parts.
The electric guitar solo, is something that needed to be on the track. Finding where to start it, and the sound I wanted, was a struggle, but after an hour of playing around, I found something I like.
Update later this week
