Holiday Song Trauma

My idea to write a Christmas song seemed exciting, but I quickly learned it was a difficult task. My goal, make it modern and poppy. That was easy enough, finding chords that fit that those parameters was a piece of cake. I wrote a little melody/ lead guitar part and I too enjoyed that. The first thing I wrote was the chorus, which I was very proud of. After that, is where the trouble began. The verse and bridge proved hard to write for several reasons; One, finding lines that are somewhat original. Two, making it cheesy, but not too cheesy to the point its just "cringey". Three, having to take breaks for college and homework made writing new lines harder. Finally, after several attempts, things started to come together as I chipped away at the remainder. The bridge quickly came along, and the idea for the verse started forming. At one point the song was almost done except for blank areas where I needed to add a few lines. The bridge eventually found its way to completion but the verse was the hardest part. I felt like I already used my best lines, so writing new ones was an uphill battle. Tonight I sat down, stared at my computer and wrote some lines that I'm deeming "okay, to subpar". Im working on tweaks and edits tomorrow, and regardless of how I feel about it, I'm green-lighting the recording process. My goal is to record all parts durring the week and start mastering this weekend to have it out before dec 23.
Here are the current lyrics, another update will come tomorrow with phone recorded audio and finalysed words.
